Since you asked...
This site is named after Rusty Rottie. RIP April 3, 2000. She was a 120#, very Alpha, female Rottweiler. Very protective and very good with her family and kids. Really hoped a burglar would come in so she could eat him.
Keiko is a rescue from the pound. Purebred mutt. Half Black Lab and half Rottie, we think. About 80 lbs. Very sweet dog. Learned how to be protective from Rusty, but never got to finish her lessons. Can't quite make up her mind if she wants to be an Alpha dog or not.
We nicknamed her "Keiko the Destroyer" in honor of the shoes, stuffed toys, and other objects she destroyed.
Our other dog is Lucky. Want a dog? Please? (Just kidding.) About 75 lbs of Lab/Pit mix. Half dimwit, 3/4 goof, 1/3 klutz, and purebred face-licker. Everyone he meets (no exceptions, ever) is his new best friend. He's gonna give Pit Bulls a bad name!
Lucky ate his dog bed the other day. Hauled it out through the dog door, ripped it to pieces. Guess he needed the fiber... Actually, he's a serial dog bed killer.
Slightly hyperactive, he also killed his fair share of shoes, boxes, etc. He's getting better, though. Maybe by the time he's 20 (in people years) he'll mellow out.
All of our cats (three) are also purebred mutts. They're also rescues from one or another feral cat rescuer.
Fiona is a longhaired, fluffy, ill-tempered so and so. Friendly for about 5-10 minutes a day.
Ninja is all black and, ahem, rather well fed...
Ulysses S Cat is our grey & white. Very persistant when it comes to demanding snuggles or people food (especially tuna.)
We also have assorted tropical fishies in a 50 gallon tank.
I don't know if the gophers in the backyard count as pets. The squirrel wandering through our yard will never again count for anything if the dogs ever get their say. What is it about squirrels that drives dogs bonkers?
